'Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris--until she meets √Čtienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, √Čtienne has it all...including a serious girlfriend.
But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?'

Anna and the French Kiss. It was on my list of books to read this year in 2013. Note the 'was'. Yes, I hunted it down, and found it at last! And when I curled up in my bed to read it, I was completely blown away. I'd heard it was good, but wow. Words fail me.

I spent the whole afternoon just devouring this book. Once I got started, I couldn't stop! The tension between Etienne and Anna, the way he says her name, his British accent... It was like a pit that had no bottom! I was falling and falling, with no way to stop.

I loved how Anna didn't whine on too much about her new situation, like some protaganists do; it just makes me feel less sorry for them. She had flaws and weaknesses just like any other human being had. She reacted to horrible situations the way any person would. When people taunt her, of course she reacts. She doesn't keep silent like some unrealistic saint. As a result, I could sympathise with her. I cried when she went through bad times, got elated for her when happy news comes through and felt a jumble of emotions all throughout the book.

When I finished reading 'Anna and the French Kiss', I felt like I had lost a friend. It was just so beautiful! The ending was everything I wanted and more.

Another surprise? I have never liked France. Always thought it was an overrated place, being named the City of  Love and all that fancy stuff. But you know what? I LOVE FRANCE NOW. Why? This beautiful book is the cause of it all! I want to go to all the places St. Clair and Anna visited together, I want to experience all the foods that they ate together, I want it all!

In conclusion, Anna and the French Kiss left me a pitiful mess. It was so good! It reminded me of why I read, why I love escaping into books. Let's just say that it has become one of my favourite chick-lit novels and restored the faith I have in these books. It deserves better than 5 stars! If you haven't read this book by now, pick it up! You must be crazy fo' shiz if you don't follow this advice!

Keep reading and loving books,

P.S. Look up Anna and the French Kiss on Google Images. There's so many doubles of the cover online! Plus, there are some really pretty fan-made covers there too! Check it out! Here's one for example. Isn't it beautiful?
